Job Summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at 3201 Kings Highway. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and ensuring the accuracy and uniformity of diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Image Acquisition and Quality Control: Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic CT images, and perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Patient Safety and Care: Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician's orders, following prescribed protocols, and observe all department documentation policies to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Management: Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, and follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
  • Patient Film and Data Management: Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Ordering and Receiving Radiopharmaceuticals: Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use, receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery, and verify proper receipt and activity level prior to administration.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: Possess a degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field, and be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Experience and Skills: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in CT scanning, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
