Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a dedicated Court Designated Worker to join the Department of Family and Juvenile Services. This role is essential in supporting the juvenile justice system and ensuring the well-being of youth in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intake Processing: Manage and assess public and status offense complaints involving juveniles.
  • Placement Coordination: Facilitate appropriate placements for juveniles taken into custody by law enforcement.
  • Preliminary Investigations: Conduct initial inquiries into complaints filed against minors.
  • Disposition Recommendations: Advise on formal processing or informal resolutions based on case evaluations.
  • Diversion Agreement Management: Develop and oversee diversion agreements tailored to individual cases.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to juvenile cases.
  • Statistical Reporting: Compile and analyze statistical data pertinent to juvenile offenses.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education: An Associate's Degree is required.

Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is necessary. Alternatively, a high school diploma accompanied by three years of job-related experience may be considered.

Skills: Candidates should possess a solid understanding of juvenile delinquency concepts and the juvenile justice process, along with strong interpersonal communication and writing abilities.

Working Conditions

This position requires flexibility, as it may involve on-call duties during various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role may necessitate travel and will be performed in both office and facility settings.
