Job Overview

The Cirrus Approach team is in search of a dedicated, innovative, and detail-oriented individual eager to leverage their aviation, educational, and design skills to tackle the dynamic challenges of flight training development.

As a Flight Training Developer, you will oversee and enhance our global training curriculum and educational materials for the SR-series and SF50 Vision Jet aircraft.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of aviation education by delivering exceptional flight instruction and crafting cutting-edge learning solutions.

In this position, you will collaborate with a diverse team of media and software developers to create new flight training products and services.

Your expertise will focus on content design and development specifically for operating the SR-series of Cirrus aircraft.

As a subject matter expert on the SR-series, you will ensure that all content is both accurate and impactful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to create engaging learning experiences and achieve results through effective flight training and established teaching methodologies.
  • Identify flight training requirements and develop innovative training solutions to address those needs.
  • Exhibit strong writing and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear and precise technical documentation outlining processes and standards.
  • Possess experience in developing and managing training curricula.
  • Independently plan and execute projects, including establishing timelines, resource needs, budgets, and project scope.
  • Design storyboards, scripts, and conceptual plans for various deliverables, including live-action and animated videos, eLearning modules, job aids, and instructor-led training.
  • Create and outline graphics, animations, and other assets for use in Cirrus Approach courseware.
  • Collaborate with designers, producers, and on-screen talent to develop video scripts that enhance the customer experience.
  • Conduct focus groups with end users to gather feedback and insights.
  • Manage internal projects by tracking milestones, communicating challenges early, and keeping the team informed of progress.
  • Revise and organize existing documentation, identify gaps, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Explore future multimedia flight training opportunities to maintain Cirrus Approach's leadership in the training industry.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or Education is preferred.
  • Current FAA CFII and second-class medical certificate.
  • A minimum of six months of recent flight instruction experience.
  • At least 300 hours of logged flight instruction provided.
  • 100 hours of experience with high-performance, single-engine, technical advanced aircraft (TAA) is required.
  • FAA IGI & AGI certification is preferred.
  • 2+ years of flight and ground instruction experience.
  • 1 year of experience in pilot school certification and management is preferred.
  • 50 hours of SR2X flight training experience is highly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience with design and animation software, including Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard animation and modeling tools, is preferred.
