Job Title: Pediatric Clinical Speech Pathologist

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Clinical Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our Therapy Services-Children's Institute, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to work with our pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and be licensed to practice in the state of Ohio. Experience working with pediatrics is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
  • Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
  • Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families.
  • Determine therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis, and duration of therapy.
  • Select assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication.
  • Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
  • Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine need for other services.
  • Maintain records of all services.
  • Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies.
  • Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials.
  • Assist with planning, budget, service, or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Must hold (SP) license in current state upon start date.
  • Holds Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Completed nine-month Clinical Fellowship Year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Open to newly licensed.
  • Experience with pediatrics a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
