Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Cardiac Procedural/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment. As a Cardiac ICU RN, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify their unique needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with families and caregivers, and provide education on disease management and self-care.
  • Monitor patients' conditions, responding promptly to changes or complications, and escalating concerns to the healthcare team as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN preferred)
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within 1 year of hire (for Critical Care/IMCU)
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specific clinical areas
