Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Telemetry Specialist to work in our telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care for patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including stroke, TIA, and post-neurosurgery. You will be responsible for conducting special procedures, administering blood products, and managing equipment such as PICC/central lines, wound vacs, and syringe pumps.
Responsibilities:- Provide care for patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including stroke, TIA, and post-neurosurgery.
- Conduct special procedures, including post-cardiac cath care, NIHSS assessments for stroke, and respiratory treatments like CPAP/BiPap.
- Administer blood products and manage equipment such as PICC/central lines, wound vacs, and syringe pumps.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac drips, with specific experience in handling stable drips like Dobutamine, Heparin, and Nitroglycerin.
- Execute pre/post cardiac angiogram and catheter management, including feeding tube care.
- Manage pre/post hemodialysis for renal failure patients and administer IV therapy.
- Conduct care procedures, including chest tube management and tracheostomy care.
- Adhere to isolation precautions, wound care protocols, and float responsibilities within the scope of practice.
- Provide care for neurological/psychiatric conditions, such as CVA, pre/post-neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury.
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a telemetry or critical care unit.
- Active license preferred, candidates in the process of obtaining a license should provide the application date and estimated issue date.
- ACLS, BCLS, NIH certification required.
- Previous charge experience preferred; stable drips expertise required.
