Job Overview
The Training Simulator Testing unit plays a pivotal role in deploying advanced, high-fidelity simulators for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP).
These simulators are essential for the effective training and qualification of Naval Nuclear Operators within the NNPP training framework.
In this role, the engineer will engage in various phases of initial design, testing, and deployment of simulators to NNPP training commands.
This position offers significant visibility and requires close collaboration with fellow engineers as well as interaction with external organizations, including Naval Reactors.
Relocation assistance is available, and some travel (approximately 10%) may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related discipline from an accredited institution, accompanied by a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience demonstrating exceptional performance; or
- Master's degree in engineering or a science-related discipline from an accredited institution with at least 7 years of relevant experience; or
- Master's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience demonstrating exceptional performance.
Additionally, candidates may qualify through various other experiences, including Shift Supervisor Part II qualification, CRE qualification, or significant experience in the Nuclear Operations Program.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in conducting shipboard or simulator test programs.
- Experience with S9G mechanics or comparable systems.

Salary Information
The annual salary range for this position is $103,000 to $161,100, based on experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens and will undergo a Federal background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
