The role of the Inclusive Education Specialist involves providing tailored instruction and support to students with disabilities, collaborating closely with general education teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment. This position plays a vital role in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), empowering students to achieve their academic and personal goals through effective strategies and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Support
  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with disabilities within inclusive classrooms, working alongside general education teachers.
  • Conduct academic assessments and prepare reports for evaluations, ensuring compliance with IEP requirements.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings in collaboration with fellow educators, providing comprehensive case management.
Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring
  • Gather and analyze data on student performance to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials to align with students' IEP goals and current academic levels.
  • Design individualized study programs that cater to the unique interests and abilities of each student.
Classroom Management & Environment
  • Establish a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Oversee the activities of support staff, ensuring effective implementation of instructional strategies.
  • Prepare lesson plans and maintain organized records of student progress and classroom activities.
  • Encourage students to uphold standards of behavior and actively participate in their learning journey.
Compliance & Policy Adherence
  • Attend professional development meetings and contribute to school committees as needed.
  • Implement modifications and accommodations to address diverse learning needs in lesson planning.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required.
  • Current teaching certification and LBS1 licensure are mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary to meet transportation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • A Master's degree in education or a related discipline.
Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, with a schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Year-round educational programming with scheduled breaks and holidays.
Compensation:
  • Annual salary ranging from $58,000 to $66,000, based on qualifications and experience.
Work Environment:
  • Physical ability to assist in the safe management of students as needed.
  • Capacity to lift and move students when necessary, as well as to remain active throughout the day.
