Compensation PackageThe estimated annual salary for this role ranges from $37,280.75 to $43,968.62, depending on level and qualifications, with additional benefits including a 5% salary incentive for those holding a Master's Degree in Social Work.
About the RoleThis Child Welfare Specialist position plays a vital role in protecting the safety and well-being of children and families within our community.
Responsibilities- Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect to ensure the protection of vulnerable children.
- Provide services to help families overcome barriers that put their children at risk, promoting family preservation and strengthening protective capacities.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual family needs, ensuring effective support and guidance.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including District Attorneys and tribal partners, to ensure comprehensive care and reunification of families when possible.
- Travel extensively throughout the region, utilizing state vehicles when necessary.
- For Level I: Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience related to child welfare work, or a combination of education and experience.
- For Level II: A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify, or one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- For Level III: A Master's degree, or a Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, or two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
All new employees will participate in the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program, providing extensive training and support for successful performance in this critical role.
