Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination, direction, and maintenance of all surgical service lines performed.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain sterile operative fields and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist healthcare practitioners during surgery and participate in quality improvement monitoring.
  • Protect patients or staff members using safety equipment and maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policy and procedures.
  • Participate in the structure and implementing orientation for new staff and may perform other duties upon request.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years recent full-time experience within an acute care facility as a Certified Surgical Technologist with experience within the identified service line(s).
  • At least three years experience as a Lead or Certified Surgical Technologist within an acute care facility to include extensive experience performing cases within identified service lines.
  • Experience mentoring and serving as a resource for new employees, as well as experience in standards and quality monitoring, supply management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CPR Certification and experience in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
