The Role

As an Expert Fuel Nozzle Designer at Woodward, you will work with some latitude and minimal supervision, performing diverse and intermediate-level design assignments. You will typically work in a New Products Introduction (NPI) environment where creative mechanization of design concepts are turned into new products or tooling.

You will be responsible for:

  • Design and development of fuel nozzles using Creo Parametric software
  • Creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of fuel nozzle components and assemblies
  • Applying GD&T principles to ensure accurate fit, form, and function of designed components
  • Developing and implementing appropriate datum schemes to facilitate manufacturing and inspection processes

Additionally, you will:

  • Use Windchill to manage design release and revisions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including Bill of Materials, design specifications, drawings, and technical reports
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical support to cross-functional teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Associate's degree - 2 year technical degree, certificate, or applicable experience
  • 5 or more years of applicable work experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry
  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric software, including experience with the model tree
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T and the appropriate datum scheme
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
