JOB OVERVIEW:

Your role involves safely and efficiently transporting goods from the warehouse to various clients, ensuring proper delivery and unloading in accordance with customer invoices and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Unload products from the trailer, either manually or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions, placing them in designated storage areas per customer specifications and company standards.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork according to established company and regulatory guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and accurate invoice submissions).
  • Adhere to food safety protocols as per established guidelines (e.g., maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle, inspecting products for damage prior to delivery, and ensuring safe storage to prevent cross-contamination).
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through excellent service and clear communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a driving school may substitute for or complement a high school diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; safe lifting and delivery practices.

Skills in: long-distance driving, navigating various terrains and weather conditions, customer communication, problem-solving, and product delivery.

Ability to: operate a tractor-trailer unit during day and night, stay alert and aware of surroundings, meet or exceed productivity standards, handle hazardous materials and various food items, operate a 3-axle tractor and trailer, and communicate effectively in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands for this position include:
  • Regularly sitting, talking, and hearing. Frequently lifting, pushing, or moving products weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 350 pounds with a hand cart; climbing in and out of vehicles; reaching to stack and unstack pallets; bending and twisting while loading and unloading.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Characteristics of the work environment include:
  • Occasional exposure to wet, hot, cold, and humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and confined spaces. Typically works an overnight schedule, including weekends and holidays, with varying start times to meet customer needs.
