About the Role:

The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team in the North Central Texas Management Unit. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing services to customers to achieve successful employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist assigned VR Counselor in providing services to customers
  • Provide basic information regarding VR programs, services, and referral information to customers and vendors
  • Collect information for intake/profile process
  • Maintain appropriate business relationships with providers/businesses/customers/staff
  • Prepare/review reports for accuracy on monitored services
  • Provide casework services/assistance to the VR Counselor in certification of eligibility
  • Participate in Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) training
  • Furnish information regarding Texas Workforce Solutions (TWS)/VRS Program, services and requirements to applicants/customers/families/vendors/businesses/general public

Requirements:

  • RA I: One year of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field and graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • RA II: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus one year and six months of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field
  • RA III: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus two years of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field
  • Sr. RA: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus two years and six months of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eighteen (18) months experience in office practices and office support work utilizing a personal computer in a Windows-based environment
  • Experience in applying purchasing procedures, case guidelines, regulations, and policies, case management support functions
  • Knowledge of community and government service delivery systems, mental illness, and emotional components of physical illness
  • Ability to interpret highly complex policies/procedures, maintain confidentiality, analyze/interpret highly complex financial data
  • Skill in interviewing and in conducting individual needs assessments
