Mammography Technologist I

At North East Medical Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mammographer I to join our team. As a Mammographer I, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mammography services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform mammography and specialized examinations of the breast to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
- Conduct general diagnostic procedures and work with a diverse patient population to meet their physical and psychological needs.
- Ensure quality of images by following all radiology protocols and applying principles of radiation safety in compliance with federal, state, and departmental standards.
- Assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies, post-biopsy imaging, and patient care.
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients and Radiologists and other members of the support team.
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Recognize and report equipment malfunctions and coordinate service for repairs.
- Understand the use of equipment to maximize diagnostic image quality and outcome.
- Practice ALARA and demonstrate expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to patients, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Exercise clinical judgment, critique images, and make necessary adjustments in technical factors, patient positioning, supplemental views, etc.
- Obtain and document pertinent information and confer with the radiologist or other providers for purposes of clarifying orders to ensure appropriateness of examination.
- Preserve and protect the confidentiality of any information, either medical or personal, acquired through professional contact with the patient and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and follow universal precaution guidelines.
- Maintain a clean working area and supplies.
- Establish and maintain ethical working relationships and good rapport with all clinic personnel, providers, and vendors.
- Make patients feel comfortable and assure patient safety and satisfaction during radiographic procedures.
- Current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and specialty license in Mammography CRT (M) required.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Possession of a sound working knowledge of radiologic techniques, principles, positioning, and safety.
- Ability to perform screening, diagnostic, and supplemental imaging up to and including implant exams.
- Must have strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to function in a team environment.
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions regarding imaging procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, stressful situations, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Experience with 3D Mammography/Tomosynthesis preferred.
- Experience with Breast Biopsies and DEXA scans preferred.
- Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.
- Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
- The ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) highly preferred.
