Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or Attending Physicians, perform a variety of high-quality obstetric and gynecologic imaging, both abdominally and transvaginally, throughout the lifespan of the woman and/or pregnancy.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care, requiring excellent communication and rapport with physicians and nursing staff.

The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the clinical situation and patient age/ability.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a broad range of obstetric and gynecologic imaging, both abdominally and transvaginally
  • Coordinate care with physician to perform procedures such as IUD removal and sonohysterography
  • Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation
  • Manage the practices' patient population
  • Support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change
Requirements:
  • ARDMS (compliant with all continuing education mandates) or a graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program and an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with on-the-job training in diagnostic ultrasound and considered registry eligible by ARDMS
  • De-escalation training
  • Basic computer experience
  • Medical office and/or hospital experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Trimester Screening (Nuchal Translucency) Certified
  • 1 year minimum experience in Obstetric/Gynecologic ultrasound
Position Requirements:
  • ARRT and ARDMS registered
  • ARDMS registered
  • ARDMS registry eligible (certification within 2 years)
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward
