Job Overview

As a BCBA, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors exhibited by students in an elementary and middle school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functional Behavior Assessments: Conduct thorough FBAs to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors exhibited by students.
  • Behavior Intervention Plans: Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the findings from the FBA, employing evidence-based strategies and techniques.
  • Staff Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff members on the effective implementation of behavior intervention plans, ensuring consistent and appropriate interventions.
  • Data Analysis and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans by systematically collecting and analyzing data on student behavior.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to ensure the student's unique needs are met and interventions are consistent across environments.
  • IEP Meetings: Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering valuable input on the development of goals and objectives related to behavior management.
Requirements
  • BCBA Certification: Hold a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Education: Possess a Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Education, or Psychology.
  • Experience: Demonstrate previous experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors in a school setting.
  • Skills: Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
  • Knowledge: Display a strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to special education and behavior management in schools.
