We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Transport patients of various weights, ages, and sizes to and from beds and ambulatory devices, using proper body mechanics to maintain patient comfort and safety.
- Interact with patients from toddlers to geriatric, with all types of illnesses, providing exceptional care and compassion.
- Secure, return, and maintain designated supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Act as a sitter, providing direct observation of patients to ensure their safety and the safety of other patients, team members, and family.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as needed.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics and patient handling techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
