Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lead Research Scientist to join our team in pioneering the future of automated and personalized marketing strategies that assist Amazon customers throughout their shopping experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead innovative research in measurement, experimentation, and optimization to enhance customer messaging experiences.
- Design and implement experiments with scientific rigor, balancing real-world trade-offs to achieve actionable results promptly.
- Communicate analytical insights to senior leadership, evaluating business impact and opportunities.
- As a respected leader in the scientific community, tackle complex challenges in science and business intelligence.
- Develop creative metrics and measurement models, and create algorithms to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies across various channels, maximizing long-term profitability while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience applying scientific principles to business challenges and product development.
- PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of quantitative research experience.
- Proficiency with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, and Hive.
- Ability to convey qualitative research methods and findings to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience translating research findings into practical, real-world applications.
- Familiarity with discrete and continuous optimization techniques and algorithms.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor market across various U.S. regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $143,300 to $247,600, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of benefits.
