About the Role

S&C Electric Company is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. As a key member of our Overhead Grid Automation Electronics Product Engineering group, you will play a crucial role in designing and supporting the manufacture of distribution level voltage controller products for our global growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electronic products for smart grid solutions, including analog and power supply designs.
  • Conception to implementation of analog and power electronics systems, including implementation of many analog functions such as amplifiers and power supply regulator circuits.
  • Assist in analyzing field returns to identify areas for product improvement and implement changes.
  • Perform and document product compliance testing, which may require local travel to outside test facilities and documentation archiving of test reports.
  • Support teams and suppliers responsible for building automated test equipment at contract manufacturer locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, remote, and multi-cultural teams to achieve project goals.
  • Work quickly and decisively under close deadlines to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Utilize bench troubleshooting skills, including the use of oscilloscopes, digital meters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and various voltage and current source power supplies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Three to seven years of experience designing analog, digital, and power circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware engineering tasks on projects using analog and power circuits.
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital interface circuitry.
  • Experience with circuit board layout on analog and mixed-signal boards.
  • Able to perform accurate, repeatable analog test and measurement, organize data, and analyze it at a systems level.
  • Collaborative and able to seek help, ask questions, and work with diverse team members to accomplish complex technical assignments.
