Los Alamos Medical Center is nestled in the heart of the beautiful mountain community of Los Alamos, New Mexico, surrounded by the stunning Jemez Mountains. Job Summary
This position plays a critical role in providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments as needed.
- Accurately documenting patient care provided.
- Maintaining vigilance and recording patient condition as necessary to inform the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assisting patients with performing daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborating across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychological support needs.
- Evaluating learning needs of patients and/or families and providing patient/family education tailored to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Serving as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will require:
- An Associate's degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- A stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
- New hires will have ninety days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications.
- Current NM licensure or appropriate RN compact licensure.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience.
