Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a Patient Companion to provide supportive care and companionship to patients who require constant observation. This is a full-time position with a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a competitive hourly rate with opportunities for increased pay based on experience.

Job Duties
  1. Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, maintaining constant observation and redirecting impulsive and harmful behavior as needed.
  2. Accompany patients to clinical tests, procedures, and appointments, and assist with meals and daily activities as required.
  3. Participate in report at the beginning and end of shift, sharing pertinent information with the Registered Nurse.
  4. Activate bed alarms and chair alarms as necessary, and assist staff with walking patients.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
Work Environment

This position is typically performed in a clinical environment, and you will be accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
