Job Summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a highly skilled Load Planner to join our team. As a Load Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process customer orders and plan shipments into loads
  • Tender freight to third-party carriers and update the Transportation Management System with current shipment information
  • Provide detailed instructions to customers and associates via phone and email
  • Track and monitor shipments, identifying and resolving operational issues
  • Complete daily logs and trackers, and handle rate negotiations with carriers
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for customers and coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Investigate and report load exceptions, and weigh alternative financial decisions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time-sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Strong customer focus, with ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, with strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills
