About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist imaging technologists, nurses, and radiologists with daily activities, including escorting patients and assisting with their care as needed.
  • Navigate computer systems to obtain necessary information and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor patients to ensure their safety and comfort during their stay in the imaging department.
  • Transport supplies, equipment, and instruments, as well as charts, records, x-rays, and reports.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in exam rooms and handle oxygen tanks, film development, and copying.
  • Advocate for team goals and objectives by promoting a balanced workload and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and effective communication.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; work experience in an acute care setting or operating room environment preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within six months of employment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages.
  • Knowledge of radiology procedures and technical language.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
