Job Title: Substitute School Nurse

At Current USA, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to join our team. As a Substitute School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily attendance to students enrolled in our programs
  • Treat and record illnesses and injuries, notifying parents as needed
  • Administer medications daily, maintaining accurate records
  • Update student records, including physicals and immunizations
  • Administer Mantoux tests as required, maintaining records
  • Provide staff training on OSHA, Universal Precautions, and safety protocols
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the building
  • Order supplies as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse, licensed in New York State
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Essential Physical Demands:
  • Ability to modify the environment to ensure child safety
  • Capacity to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet
  • Ability to move quickly to prevent elopement
  • Capacity to follow oral and written directions and respond to fire alarms
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs with railing
