Job Overview

Requirements

Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers are welcome)

Patient Demographics: Adults to Geriatrics, with an average daily census of 28

Staffing Ratio: 1:4/5

Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC & SBAR

Clinical Focus

This unit manages a variety of diagnoses including CHF, STEMI, NSTEMI, renal issues, pulmonary conditions, trauma, stroke, and TIA. The unit caters to patients who are not unstable enough for ICU but require more care than a standard medical-surgical unit.

Special Procedures

Responsibilities include:

  • Peritoneal dialysis
  • CPAP and BIPAP management
  • EKG monitoring
  • Stress testing
  • Cardiac catheterizations
  • Medication infusions (e.g., amiodarone, cardene, insulin, etc.)
Required Certifications

Candidates must possess BLS and ACLS certifications, along with proficiency in Epic.
