About the Role

As a SCADA Operations Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation of the SCADA environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring SCADA support systems and assisting in outage events
  • Ensuring the continuous operation of the SCADA environment
  • Supporting and monitoring production and stage environments and applications to ensure minimal outage to all SCADA applications
  • Improving speed, efficiency, and stability of deployment and production environments
  • Creating appropriate documentation
  • Making recommendations for improving existing architecture
  • Participating and planning disaster recovery testing and implementation
  • Participating in regular staged releases to production and other environments as needed
  • Working in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients, and/or vendors
  • Analyzing historical alarm logs to ensure efficient resolution
  • Cross-training others in the group on new application environments and practices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a combination of the following areas:
    • 2 years of understanding of server architectures, Operating Systems (Windows/LINUX/Unix)
    • 2+ years identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems using critical thinking and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment
    • Understanding or project life cycles (Waterfall and Agile)
    • Working knowledge of server operating systems and virtual environments
    • Understanding of SAN and Database technologies (EMC/Oracle, MS SQL) performance and communications
    • Experience with network and file protocols including HTTP, SFTP, XML, HTML, Modbus, REST, and SSH
    • Understanding of networking concepts (firewalls, routers, switches)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Sharepoint
  • Motivated individual who can work independently and in a team
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
