About the Job

At Henry Ford Health System, we are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Pre/Post Anesthesia Care unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

About the Role

The Patient Care Specialist will be responsible for assisting Registered Nurses with patient care duties, including vitals, blood draws, and venipuncture. You will also participate in team roundings and identify concerns related to patients, staff, and yourself, communicating effectively with the responsible RN.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care duties under the direction of the RN
  • Perform vitals, blood draws, and venipuncture
  • Participate in team roundings and communicate concerns
  • Provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care

Requirements

To be successful as a Patient Care Specialist, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A completion of a Nurse Assistant program (or similar program)
  • Or may be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course
  • Or foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license
  • Or completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience
  • Or at least one year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role
