Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Underwriting Assistant to join our team. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will work closely with our underwriting team to complete underwriting processes, communicate with agents and internal departments, and ensure policy transactions are completed timely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities- Rating accounts, preparing quotes, and completing the binding process for policies and endorsements.
- Ordering loss control surveys and underwriting reports as directed, documenting the underwriting file accordingly.
- Ensuring policy transactions are completed timely and accurately in line with company standards.
- Communicating and following up with producers, as needed, to obtain necessary information prior to and after binding the account.
- Communicating with various departments to respond to policy questions and resolve issues.
- Performing all pre-quote work required by underwriting, including risk meter, ISO, MSB, Web Research, D&B, and Mapping.
- Issuing NONR/Cancellations & Reinstatements in accordance with underwriting & state guidelines.
- Three + years experience in commercial property and casualty multi-line rating experience required, with an emphasis on property and general liability.
- Knowledge of insurance processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO commercial lines policy rating and issuing transactions.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook, Image Right. WINS experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, as well as math skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to follow protocol with an emphasis on quality and customer service.
