  3. Hire and direct the activities of staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  4. Resolve personnel issues as they arise, promoting a positive and respectful workplace culture.
  5. Engage in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development, ensuring compliance with university regulations and best practices.
  6. Implement new programs and projects, monitoring ongoing activities and making adjustments as necessary.
  7. Review department policies and processes, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Represent the department or center to internal and external constituents, promoting a positive image and building relationships.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and at least five years of directly related experience. A thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline is required, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Position Information
  • The department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
  • This position may be eligible for Alternative Work Arrangements, as allowed by UH policy.
Preferences

A master's degree, particularly an MBA, is preferred, but not required.
