Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Structures Superintendent to join our team at Flatiron Construction Corp. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of critical infrastructure projects in the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate production and workforce engaged at the segment site
  • Liaise between field engineering, estimating, and workforce to ensure project compliance with contract drawings and specifications
  • Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs, and work schedule for assigned project work
  • Review and understand project specifications to support job set up activities
  • Identify hazardous areas on the job site and work with work crews, field engineers, and local utility companies to mitigate risks
  • Forecast work schedules to identify possible issues and provide technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues
  • Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks, including construction methods, work plan, and material requirements
  • Document daily activities and meeting notes using company-approved document methods
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction
Requirements
  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience
  • 7+ years of construction management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong leadership capability with internal drive to mentor and grow internal talent
  • Proven ability to handle complex construction projects using strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to manage difficult schedules and project demands while maintaining strict adherence to project safety program
  • Developed expertise in a specialized construction type
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract-specific plans and specifications
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry
