At Peeples Industries, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for safely and effectively operating ships gear cranes and other specialized heavy equipment in order to load or unload bulk cargo from vessels.

About the Role

This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and operated in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate ships gear cranes and other heavy equipment to load and unload bulk cargo
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company standards and protocols
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve operational goals and objectives
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating cranes or similar heavy equipment
  • Flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain TWIC card
  • Pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen, physical, and background check
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
