Accountant - Financial Reporting

The Accountant will be responsible for processing and analyzing payroll queries and reports for labor, taxes, and deductions for all three companies: Consolidated Edison, Orange & Rockland, and Con Edison Transmission. This role will ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements. The Accountant will also respond to payroll-related service requests in The Employee Hub system for active employees and retirees, analyzing and interpreting employee exception time within the system. Additionally, the Accountant will become an Administrator of our third-party company ADP Solution to handle payroll tax matters and employee garnishments throughout the year. The role will also assist the Department Manager and colleagues with special assignments, projects, and various studies performed within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Process and analyze payroll queries and reports for labor, taxes, and deductions for all three companies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to payroll-related service requests in The Employee Hub system for active employees and retirees.
- Analyze and interpret employee exception time within The Employee Hub system.
- Become an Administrator of our third-party company ADP Solution to handle payroll tax matters and employee garnishments.
- Assist the Department Manager and colleagues with special assignments, projects, and various studies performed within the department.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 2 years of full-time experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong Customer Service skills.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships with stakeholders.
