Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a talented Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Set Free Alaska.

About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for delivering direct counseling services to clients, conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address clinical concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans that meet the needs and goals of each client.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, as well as family sessions as needed.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and provide case conceptualization.
• Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate care, referrals, and collateral involvement with other providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with local agencies, including the Department of Corrections and Office of Children's Services.

Requirements:

• A Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health treatment, including delivering direct therapeutic services, crisis intervention, and assessments.
• The ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check.
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills, with proficiency in computer software and electronic communication tools.

Salary: $64,000.00 +
