Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team at Barnabas Health Medical Group. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of care in the use of radiation–producing sources and imaging equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct all aspects of radiation oncology physics responsibilities, including equipment calibration and commissioning, clinical support, and quality assurance.
- Provide radiation services of the highest standard of professionalism and in accordance with established benchmarks for quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop clinical protocols and enroll patients in clinical trials.
- Participate in teaching activities for medical and physics residents, dosimetrist and therapist students, and attending physicians.
- Maintain productivity by full participation in Division clinical workload in accordance with established productivity benchmarks.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in medical physics, physics, or related fields is preferred. Will accept applicants with board certifications in process having a minimum of: MS in Medical Physics or equivalent field with Part 1 of ABR exam completed.
- Board certification/eligibility with demonstrated successful clinical experience within an academic medical center.
- Experiences with conventional radiotherapy, 3-D and IMRT treatment planning, high and low dose rate brachytherapy; knowledge of Linac operations and functions, knowledge of various special procedures (external beam and brachytherapy); and strong commitment to patient care, education, and clinical research are all required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference of consideration will be given to candidates who have clinical experiences and have completed a CAMPEP accredited residency program.
- Strong communication skills and clinical experiences with demonstrated ability to work independently is strongly preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct all aspects of radiation oncology physics responsibilities, including equipment calibration and commissioning, clinical support, and quality assurance.
- Provide radiation services of the highest standard of professionalism and in accordance with established benchmarks for quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Radiation services will be provided at multiple locations, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospitals, RWJBH Medical Centers, and University Hospital in Newark.
- Maintain productivity by full participation in Division clinical workload in accordance with established productivity benchmarks.
- Participate in the development of clinical protocols and enrollment of patients to clinical trials.
- Participate in teaching activities for medical and physics residents, dosimetrist and therapist students, and attending physicians.
