Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is in search of a skilled Joint Aviation Command and Control Analyst to support the External Elements (EXELMS) division of MSTP. This role is pivotal in assisting with the design, planning, and execution of exercises at the MEF/MEB level.

The primary mission of MSTP is to train and educate the Command Elements of the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and Marine Expeditionary Brigades (MEB) to effectively conduct operations across various military scenarios, particularly within Joint, Combined, or Coalition frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on operational concepts and analyze aviation command and control processes.
  • Develop exercise planning documentation, including Joint/Combined Air Operations Plans and CONOPS.
  • Facilitate all stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) during MSTP-led exercises and wargames.
  • Strategize the deployment of joint and combined airpower at both tactical and operational levels.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the training audience, up to the O-6 MEF Assistant Chief of Staff level.
  • Serve as the AOC Senior Offensive Duty Officer (SODO) during MSTP-led exercises.
  • Lead or contribute to the creation of scripted Air Operations planning scenarios.
  • Adjust work hours as necessary to accommodate extended operations during events.
  • Perform the role of an event Observer, Trainer, Collector (OTC).

Qualifications

  • Experience in the Combat Operations Division within a CAOC/AOC/JAOC.
  • Prior military experience as a pilot, navigator, Naval Flight Officer, or Electronic Warfare Officer.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Air Operations planning process and command and control methodologies.
  • Background in planning and executing Joint offensive airpower missions.
  • Proficient in drafting orders in accordance with CJCSM A.
  • Completion of Intermediate Service School is required.
  • Familiarity with deploying and employing aviation units.
  • Understanding of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Direct involvement in real-world military operations.
  • Leadership experience within an AOC environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with over 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing events to support a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL).
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Work Environment and Travel

  • Standard office environment.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 25-40%, primarily to various military installations.
