POSITION OVERVIEW

Firm Advice is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Corporate Affairs to support a prominent global technology firm. This role will report directly to the general counsel and collaborate with various business units and technical teams, as well as multiple subsidiaries. The primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, partnering with external legal advisors to ensure adherence to privacy laws, and managing other corporate legal issues. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in basic contracts, such as NDAs, and terms related to warranty, indemnity, and termination, with a desire to receive mentorship on more intricate agreements. This position provides a unique opportunity to expand knowledge across different legal practice areas as the legal department evolves.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor degree and valid license to practice in at least one US state; eligibility for admission to the Virginia Bar as Corporate Counsel.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience (preferred) in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Experience in data privacy law is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EEOC and/or M&A matters is advantageous.
  • Openness to learning new legal disciplines is preferred.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
