Global Animal Products is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team in Amarillo, Texas. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for monitoring the company's financial status and accounting policies, reviewing budgets, performing inventory management reconciliations, and ensuring timely payments.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of accounting experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions: Manufacturing and Wholesale. You will also have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process, as well as proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations, prepare journal entries, create and maintain periodic reporting, and assist with financial reporting tasks.
- Responsible for A/R and A/P activities – including invoicing customers and processing received checks.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts, analyzing transactions, and making adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Perform monthly inventory review and reconciliation with physical plant inventory.
- Oversee and perform as-needed payroll activities.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported.
- Prepare and publish timely consolidated monthly financial statements.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Support external tax consultants and provide timely information as needed for business tax filings.
- Work with external auditors and audits (financial and insurance), providing all needed information to ensure proper completion.
