About the Role

Windstream is seeking a skilled Construction-Line Worker to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining poles, cables, and conduits. You will also be involved in the installation of aerial and buried cables, as well as the running of fiber optic and copper cables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair poles, cables, and conduits
  • Install aerial and buried cables, including fiber optic and copper cables
  • Run fiber optic and copper cables through aerial and underground infrastructure
  • Maintain the safety of the crew by providing direction on procedures and safety protocols
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and infrastructure
  • Operate heavy machinery, including digger derricks and bucket trucks
  • Splice copper and fiber cables and perform other tasks associated with splicing
Requirements
  • Outside plant construction experience, including installation, repair, and maintenance of poles and buried or aerial cable
  • Pole climbing certification
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation, as well as days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL license
  • Ability to pass DOT certification
  • Ability to travel
