Deputy Coroner

We are seeking a skilled Deputy Coroner to join our team in Kern County, CA. As a Deputy Coroner, you will be responsible for investigating deaths and conducting autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.

• Conduct investigations into deaths to determine the cause and manner of death
• Perform autopsies to aid in determining the cause and manner of death
• Collect and analyze evidence related to deaths
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure a thorough investigation

• Must have two years of full-time paid investigative experience that provides knowledge of investigative principles and techniques
• Successful completion of the Penal Code Section 832 course is required prior to employment or within one year of employment as a Deputy Coroner
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is required at time of appointment
• Must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness, with felony convictions being disqualifying
