Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a key member of our Sheet Metal Shop, you will assist in the operation of CNC machinery, deburring parts, and learning the precision sheet metal trade. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the production of high-quality sheet metal products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior employees in operating CNC Punch Press, Waterjet Cutting Center, and Press Brakes to fabricate sheet metal products.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

• Cut sheet and blanks for shop machinery using hydraulic shears and cutting tools.

• Break-out parts off Punch Press and Omax Waterjet.

• Deliver parts to other departments and areas of the facility.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of related experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

• Strong understanding of shop math and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to operate power and hand tools, and lift 50 pounds or more on a daily basis.
