Job Title: Assembly Operator

At Newell Brands, we are seeking a skilled Assembly Operator to join our team in Wichita. As an Assembly Operator, you will play a critical role in the production of coolers, ensuring high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a series of tasks involved in the assembly of coolers, maintaining line speed and quality standards.
  • Confirm and sign assembly line and safety buyoff prior to starting production.
  • Initiate product runs, remove parts with damage or unacceptable defects, and maintain cycle time standards.
  • Operate pour stations, fixtures, and hand tools, including knives, drills, and scrapers, to perform various tasks.
  • Track good and bad parts produced, continuously inspect for Critical to Quality (CTQ) elements, and notify defects and/or errors.
  • Utilize 5S methods to maintain a clean work environment and follow Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred or combination of related experience plus education.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with moderate to extreme working conditions due to noise level, dust/dirt, and odors.
Working Conditions:
  • Indoor work environment with high temperatures, loud noises, and exposure to fumes.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and hand protection.
