Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team as we establish a new dietitian department from the ground up. As a key member of our staff, you will develop personalized dietary programs, offer counseling, and provide specialized support for conditions such as diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, and kidney disease.

• Develop culturally sensitive programs of instruction in diet therapy, nutrition, and diet counseling techniques for MCHC staff; create needed nutrition education materials.
• Teach and counsel patients to select and/or prepare and use foods that best nourish their bodies, considering physical, financial, social, and emotional needs, personal preferences, and cultural patterns.
• Provide specialized education to patients with diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, kidney disease, etc.
• Travel to all MCHC site locations, as scheduled and as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing educational programs for staff and patients.
• Counseling patients on diet therapy and nutrition.
• Providing specialized support for patients with various health conditions.
• Traveling to multiple MCHC locations to deliver services.

Benefits

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be a registered dietitian (RD) or registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Hold a minimum bachelor's degree in nutrition/dietetics.
• Have a minimum of one year of registered dietitian experience.
• Be eligible to provide medically necessary Medical Nutrition Therapy reimbursable by Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), or bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is highly desirable.
