Job Summary:

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in our retail environment, working under the guidance of the Store Manager. This position is focused on delivering exceptional customer service, managing cash register transactions, and ensuring the security and cleanliness of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm and welcoming experience for customers by greeting them promptly and offering assistance.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system effectively to ensure accurate sales transactions and maintain up-to-date pricing information.
  • Handle cash transactions responsibly, including processing discounts and coupons correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front of the store, including cleaning surfaces and returning carts to designated areas.
  • Support promotional activities by assisting with customer information displays and signage.
  • Keep merchandise displays stocked and organized, ensuring items are placed correctly on the sales floor.
  • Assist in maintaining dressing rooms and re-hanging clothes as necessary.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience in a retail setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in operating point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and customers.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with a focus on listening and responding appropriately.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires prolonged periods of standing and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed. Candidates should be prepared for tasks that involve reaching, bending, and other physical activities.
