Job Title: Sexual Assault Victim Advocate InternJob Summary:

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Intern. As an intern, you will play a vital role in providing support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault, helping them navigate the complex process of seeking justice and healing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault
  • Advocate for survivors' rights and interests in medical, legal, and social service systems
  • Coordinate services and resources for survivors, including medical exams, counseling, and legal assistance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to increase awareness and access to services
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in victim advocacy
Requirements:
  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in social work, mental health, or a related field
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and compassion for survivors of sexual assault
