Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Scientist to join our Amazon Logistics team. As a Simulation Scientist, you will play a key role in driving innovation across our Last Mile network by designing, developing, and simulating engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop simulation models to optimize material flow, process design, and ergonomics for the Last Mile network.
- Lead and coordinate simulation efforts to drive optimal solutions through equipment specification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations, and site layout.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure that every detail is thought through and documented using Standard Operating Procedures and/or structured change control.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.).
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company.
