Master Mechanic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Mechanic Technician to join our production team at Sterling Engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about machine assembly and mechanical aptitude.
About the RoleThis position will involve assembling various machines and multi-systems based on drawings and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pneumatic functions, devices, and fittings.
Responsibilities:- Work under the guidance of experienced production team members to ensure high-quality results.
- Assemble all aspects of machines or multi-systems based on detailed drawings and/or verbal instructions from supervisors.
- Perform rework on critical machine components when necessary to meet quality standards.
- Utilize knowledge of pneumatic functions, devices, and fittings to achieve desired outcomes and troubleshoot issues.
- Document changes made to machine parts and assemblies on engineering drawings for future reference.
- Provide relevant information for machine technical documentation to support maintenance and repair efforts.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures and protocols.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Safely maintain tools and equipment in an orderly fashion to prevent damage or accidents.
- Follow established work instructions and maintain accurate checklists to ensure compliance.
- Comply with all ATS Company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to ATS Health, Safety, and Environmental Procedures to protect employees, equipment, and the environment.
- Do not remove or alter safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through Lockout-Tagout methods.
- Actively report any witnessed unsafe conditions or unsafe acts and take necessary actions to correct them.
- Report any defects in equipment or protective devices to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks to minimize risks.
- Report accidents/incidents and near misses to supervisors promptly.
- Refrain from engaging in unruly conduct that could compromise workplace safety.
- Ensure equipment, materials, and protective devices are functioning safely to prevent accidents.
- Ensure employees are following divisional health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- A High School diploma or trade school education is required.
- 1-2 years of related experience in machine assembly, with minimal experience in toolmaking or equivalent skills.
- Journeyman toolmaker or equivalent skills are desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Good interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication and collaboration.
At Sterling Engineering, we offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
