We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Applied AI team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI technologies that will transform the way our customers interact with our e-commerce platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run the Applied AI program across WW Amazon Stores, discovering relevant areas, understanding metrics and technology, and producing a monthly artifact for review at the Stores Leadership level.
- Keep stakeholders up-to-date on products, upcoming capabilities, and future plans, representing the team and communicating with executives, business, and technical stakeholders.
- Dive deep with customers to identify and understand pain points, think big to build durable products that anticipate future pain points, and use technical judgment to test assumptions.
- Evangelize products and drive adoption, thinking through all aspects of products' life cycles, including business, technical, legal, and marketing.
- Help others grow professionally.
About the Team
The Applied AI team uses advanced ML and Generative AI techniques to help scale the inputs for our large e-commerce business. Scaling in the past was limited by roles that could be done manually, in a timely manner. This is a new focus for our business, and the opportunity is huge.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- Ability to work backwards from customers and with key stakeholders, trading off addressable business opportunities against available resources.
- Experience in defining, evangelizing, and realizing the vision for a new product area.
- Track record of innovation, initiating and proposing strategic product initiatives, and defining the vision for strategic technical programs.
- Experience in compiling and effectively communicating business plans, technical proposals, and product roadmaps to stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in developing and mentoring junior product managers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience.
- Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- Experience working with data preparation techniques, and ML modeling frameworks and tooling.
- Experience designing and building products for developers and scientists.
- Passion for learning new technologies and finding ways to apply them to improve our customers' lives.
