We are seeking a skilled Waterproofing Specialist to join our team at Installed Building Products. As a Waterproofing Specialist, you will be responsible for installing caulking in various joints and surfaces, ensuring a watertight seal and protecting our clients' properties from water damage.
Key Responsibilities- Install Caulking: Apply caulking to expansion, contraction, and control joints in interior and exterior masonry, door frames, windows, and other surfaces.
- Inspect Joints: Ensure joints are sound, free of debris, and have the correct joint size.
- Pack Joints: Use backer rods to ensure proper joint depth and prevent three-sided adhesion.
- Operate Equipment: Safely operate forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment to access high areas.
- Apply Primer: Apply joint primer to ensure a strong bond between the caulking and the surface.
- Mix Materials: Mix caulking and other materials according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Clean Tools: Clean tools and equipment using toluene or xylene-type products.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-3 months of related experience or training.
- Skills: Ability to read plans, experience with below-grade waterproofing or caulking, and reliable transportation.
As a Waterproofing Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, high places, and hazardous materials. You must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally move objects over 100 pounds.
