Job Summary
The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and modification of advanced scientific and/or engineered methods, applications, programs, procedures, revisions, and software to ensure that products or services meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Quality Control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure that products or services meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Monitor and analyze data related to quality control processes, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain ongoing contact with staff members of API, third-party personnel, quality consultants, and customers.
- Ensure that continual improvement of the product and processes throughout the entire organization takes place.
- Develop, advise, publish, and implement policies pertaining to Quality, Technology, and applicable specifications.
- Manage and process complaints and claims from customers.
- Maintain Metallurgical Lab functions and acquire resources to provide reliable information from testing.
- Manage and coordinate NDT activities as well as QA/QC Auditing functions.
- Review and approve the SOPs and other documents related to the Quality Management System.
- Make objective evaluations by conducting audits, reviews, and random samples to ensure adequate quality and process compliance of the work in progress.
- Ensure adherence to Quality guidelines throughout the different processes.
- Assist on external Quality-related activities/issues that may be of concern.
- Provide Internal Audits for and External Audits to Outsourced Processors.
- Host External Audits.
- Maintain applicable licenses (such as API) active.
- Ensure that Management Reviews take place.
- Approve Purchase Requisitions for products or outsourced processes that apply to the Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Degree or Training in Metallurgy, Quality, and/or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Q.C. and/or Q.A. and a minimum of 5 years' experience in management/supervision.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications.
- Knowledgeable experience with the latest edition of API & ISO requirements and some Environmental & Safety.

- Must coordinate last-minute project-based work and details as well as the ability to travel.
- Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.

- Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
- Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Working conditions are split between a professional office environment and a normal manufacturing environment.
- Work involves delegated and operation detail.
- Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
- Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
- Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Direct Reports/Authorities
- Direct authority over Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments and personnel.
- Direct authority over the quality process; can stop production at any time that is deemed necessary.
- Accountabilities
- The QA/QC Manager is accountable for all Quality Department-related activities for SeAH Steel USA, LLC.
