Position Overview:
The State of Florida is in search of a meticulous and skilled Procurement Specialist II to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in managing various procurement, inventory, and grant oversight responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solicit informal quotations for goods not available on state contracts, adhering to established procurement guidelines.
  • Utilize procurement software to create purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with state purchasing regulations.
  • Maintain vendor information in the statewide vendor database.
  • Oversee the acquisition and receipt of goods and services.
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries related to procurement matters.
  • Assist in the facilitation of Request for Proposal (RFP) bid openings.
  • Manage physical inventory and maintain tracking systems for departmental resources.
  • Coordinate the preparation of state and federal grant applications and reports.
  • Stay informed on grant processes and regulations, providing guidance to staff as necessary.
  • Support contract management related to grant awards.
  • Ensure budgets are maintained accurately and are easily accessible for review.
  • Prepare detailed management reports on budgetary matters as required.
  • Perform additional administrative and procurement tasks as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of administrative experience is necessary; a relevant college degree may substitute for part of this experience.
  • Experience with state procurement policies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with state and federal grant processes is a plus.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
